Caelen Watts, the leading scorer on the Lennard High boys basketball team that reached the Class 6A state final four this past season, has signed with Potomac State.

Watts, a point guard, averaged 17.8 points, 3.1 assists and 3.1 steals per game and graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,675 career points, which ranks 30th all-time in Hillsborough County. Watts was named to the Tribune’s All-County first-team and selected a TBBCA All-Star.

In addition to Watts, Trey Jones, the third leading scorer on the basketball team, has signed to play football at Wittenberg University. A two-way starter in football, Jones finished with 547 total yards (passing, rushing, receiving) and three touchdowns and defensively, had 22 tackles with an interception and two fumble recoveries.
