TAMPA — Aspiring Tampa Bay area football players will have a chance to learn the game first hand this summer from some of the greatest players in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history.
The occasion is the Anthony Becht Football Camp, which will be held June 16-18 at Land O’ Lakes High School.
Becht, a former tight end with the Bucs, has secured an all-star cast of instructors that includes former Bucs fullback Mike Alstott, 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Derrick Brooks and former coach Jon Gruden.
Other guest instructors scheduled to be a part of the camp, the fourth Becht has held in the area, include current Bucs wide receiver Vincent Jackson, former Bucs defensive end Kevin Carter and former Bucs tackle Chris Hovan.
“Our goal is to teach the kids all positions, both offense and defense, but we also want to teach them lessons that will make them better kids and better students,’’ Becht said.
“Football is important and we want to teach the kids all that we can about the game and how to play it right, but football is really just a small part of what we’re trying to get the kids to understand and be a part of.’’
Cost of the three-day camp, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and includes lunch, is $170. It is open to all kids who will be in grades 1-8 at the beginning of the coming school year.
