A keen focus on detail and quality continues to earn Southern Crafted Homes awards, most recently being named to Professional Builder Magazine's list of Housing Giants 2012.

"This is our first time appearing on this prestigious list and it demonstrates our continued growth, year after year," said Jim Deitch, chief operating officer for Southern Crafted Homes.

"Making this list is a true honor and is a testament to our drive for building quality homes. Our team is proud and excited to be building homes for families relocating to the Tampa Bay area, as well as local residents who know our reputation and commitment to quality and service."

Southern Crafted is one of only a dozen or so Florida builders to make the list, a ranking that comes on the heels of its winning the Florida Green Building Coalition's Builder of the Year and a Leadership in Housing Award from the Environmental Protection Agency for its commitment to building 100 percent energy-efficient homes.

"It has been a good year for Southern Crafted Homes, with sales up 70 percent over this time last year and entrance into the on-your-lot market, as well as beginning construction on new homes in Champions Club in Trinity," Deitch said.

Southern Crafted Homes just recently opened a new community at Champions Club in Trinity. Showcasing larger homes on larger lots, Champions Club features homes with 3,800 or more square feet of living space and are on home sites ranging in size from 1/3 acre to lots that are more than 1/2 acre. Homes in Champions Club are priced from $450,000 to more than $1 million.

"Champions Club in Trinity features high-end homes on beautiful wooded home sites and golf course sites," he said.

The community features the Fox Hollow Country Club and world-class amenities, he said.

This expansion rounds out the range of options Southern Crafted can offer families looking to build their dream home.

"With our diverse product offering, Southern Crafted Homes is able to meet the demands, needs and wants of first-time homeowners, move-up buyers, empty nesters and luxury-home buyers," Deitch said.

"We are also currently building a private residence on Treasure Island on beachfront property and have plans to build more in Pinellas County. In addition, we are meeting home buyer needs by now offering to design and build homes for customers who own their own home sites."

With the addition of Champions Club, Southern Crafted Homes now builds homes in four local communities: Devonwood in Land O'Lakes, the Preserve at Quailwoods in Wesley Chapel, and Stonegate, also in Land O'Lakes. Each of the communities, conveniently located with access to downtown Tampa, Tampa International Airport and the beaches of Pinellas County, is gated and there are no community development district (CDD) fees.

* Devonwood Villas in Land O' Lakes offer luxury living with a low-maintenance environment. The homes range in size from 1,461 to 2,023 square feet of living space and can be customized to accommodate buyers' unique needs. The homes feature high ceilings and spacious great rooms and kitchens that overlook covered lanais. Prices start in the $160,000's.

* Stonegate in Land O' Lakes offers an outstanding pallet of community amenities, such as a resort pool, lap pool, gym, playground, clubhouse, walking trails, a park and a fishing dock. With more than 25 different floor plans, there is something for everyone. Homes range in size from 1,700 to more than 4,500 square feet and are priced from the $180,000's.

* The Preserve at Quailwoods is known for its large home sites, nestled in nature but easy access to work and entertainment. Only minutes from Interstate 75 and The Grove at Wesley Chapel, homeowners enjoy privacy with shopping and major roads nearby. Homes start in the $190,000's and floor plans range from 1,700 to more than 4,500 square feet.

All Southern Crafted Homes communities are gated and have no Community Development District (CDD) fees. They feature one of the strongest warranties in the homebuilding business and all homes are HERSNET and Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) Green certified for maximum energy efficiency.

Southern Crafted Homes has been building homes in the Tampa Bay area since 1990 and started building "green" homes in 2009.
