Trips from as close as the Florida Everglades to as far away as Japan will be shared by travel enthusiasts during a series of programs called The Travelogues.

The public programs will be from 7 to 9 p.m. the first Friday night of the month, from April through June, at Cafe Hey, 1540 N. Franklin St., Tampa. They are sponsored by Vessels, part of a creative arts project directed by Gina Moccio.

"Everybody has been somewhere or wants to go to something," said Moccio, a Seminole Heights resident.

The series will focus on Italy, Japan, Everglades National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Egypt, the Philippines and New Orleans. The programs will include slides, video or a combination with the traveler narrating the trip.

Bob Suren said his presentation about Egypt will include information, 138 photos and a discussion of visits to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Nile River, the Sphinx and a swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

This is the second program Vessels has presented in The Travelogues. In January, programs focused on family travel in Ireland; studying abroad in England; missionary work in Costa Rica; visiting France; and couch surfing through 26 states.

About 200 people attended those programs, which were held at Cafe and two other locations, on Friday nights, Moccio said.
