Things to do in the South Tampa area this weekend

See you at the zoo: The two-toed sloth will hang out with the other animals during Lowry Park Zoo's Red, White & Zoo Holiday Weekend, today through Sunday at the zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave.

Military personnel and up to three dependents may visit the zoo for free each day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Military members must show a Department of Defense photo ID at the zoo's ticket counter. Dependants may take advantage of the offer without their service member, though an adult with valid military ID must accompany them. The offer is not valid with other discounts.

Also, the Teddy Bear Picnic takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Children are invited to bring their bears and enjoy special activities and music with Radio Disney, 1380 AM.

Motorcycle merriment: The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 5223 Orient Road, hosts a free Biker Bash from noon to 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Winner's Way parking garage.

The bash features a 10-class bike contest, beer specials, a poker walk and live entertainment.

Patriotic picture: Tampa Theatre's Summer Classic Movie Series presents "Yankee Doodle Dandy" at 3 p.m.

James Cagney won his only Oscar for this portrayal of real-life composer, playwright, actor, singer and dancer George M. Cohan. After the screening, USF film professor Harriet Deer will lead a short discussion of the film.

Drama in Ireland: Two Irish brothers living alone in their late father's house find it impossible to get along in Jobsite Theater's production of "The Lonesome West," Wednesday through Aug. 4 at the Straz Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place.
