TAMPA A pickup full of toys was delivered Dec. 21 to the Tampa General Children's Medical Center by St. John's Episcopal Parish Day School students and fathers from the school's Dads' Club.
The Dads' Club at St. John's helps the students focus on service, holding collections of needed items for the disadvantaged during the holidays as well as organizing an all-school service day annually in the spring.
"We are so pleased to be able to cap off the calendar year with another service project led by our Dads' Club," said the school's headmaster, Gordon Rode. "During the holiday season, we encourage our students to remember those less fortunate. We believe it reinforces the true message of Christmas, to love one another as He loved us."
The school is the second-oldest Episcopal school in Florida, celebrating its 62nd year. The school's mission is to provide students through eighth-grade with an accelerated educational experience in a Christian environment.
