A new 24-foot-high sculpture near WestShore Plaza was designed to reflect the community's colorful, active flavor.
"Kinetic Ring" was unveiled Friday at Kennedy Boulevard and Memorial Highway. The sculpture cost $95,311 — including $44,000 provided by private contributors. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn spoke at the dedication ceremony.
Local sculptor Catherine Woods, who works with architectural glass and metal, designed "Kinetic Ring."
The sculpture is adjacent to Hillsborough County's memorial for veterans who died in World War I.
