The long-awaited opening of the Epicurean Hotel in South Tampa has officially been scheduled for mid-December.
The foodie-themed boutique hotel on South Howard Avenue is now accepting reservations directly by phone for stays beginning Dec. 18. A full connection with the Marriott online reservation system is now taking reservations for stays starting Dec. 28.
This was generally the plan for the hotel’s opening — Marriott would gradually move the first-available reservation date earlier on the calendar as construction of the hotel progressed and met certain benchmarks.
The 137-room hotel on South Howard Avenue is a joint project between Bern’s owner David Laxer and partner Mainsail Lodging and Development of Tampa, and it will operate under the Marriott umbrella. The hotel will feature a full-service luxury spa and fitness center, state-of-the-art culinary classroom known as the Epicurean Theatre, Chocolate Pi bakery, Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits wine shop, and 5,200-square feet of flexible event space.
The hotel also will feature Elevage, the first Bern’s-related restaurant to offer breakfast and lunch as well as dinner.
