A sale of new and used women's dress and casual clothes, sponsored by a nonprofit assisting women returning to the work force, will raise funds for the organization's work.
The Dress for Success Excess Inventory Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 26 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at the Lions Eye Institute, 1410 N. 21st St. Dresses, purses and totes are $4; pants, skirts and shirts, $4; belts, $2; and jewelry, $1. The sale is open to the public.
Katie McGill, executive director, said the organization stocks only suits for its clients because of space limitations. However, it often receives donations of other good-quality clothing and usually shares it with 15 clothes closets operated by churches and other organizations.
However, Dress for Success has saved the donations for several months for this sale.
"We will sell it to buy large women's sizes (of suits and shoes) as we can't get enough of them," McGill said.
All sales are cash only, with no refunds. There also will be a bake sale and shoppers are asked to bring reading glasses and eyeglasses no longer needed for donation to the Lions Eye Institute.
