Crab dish draws a crowd at inaugural feast

TAMPA – Food and music lovers turned out recently for the inaugural Tampa Crab Enchilado Feast, which featured crab enchilado (an original Tampa fusion food of blue crabs and fresh tomato sauce), salad and fresh Cuban bread.

The crab dish was a favorite family dish in Tampa with families gathering crabs and making pots of the rich sauce.

Michelle Faedo of Michele Faedo’s Food on the Go food truck, and her husband, Robbie, dished out gallons of the meal for guests. They could eat it on paper-covered tables at Cruis a cade on the Hillsborough River while listening to local bands or take it home with them.

The Aug. 3 event benefited Trinity Cafe, which serves the homeless hot lunches near downtown Tampa.
