PALMA CEIA — Officers of Red Cross Angels were installed at a recently luncheon, which also included a fashion show with members as models.
The Angels are a support organization that raises funds and awareness of the work of the Red Cross.
Officers are Renee Vaughn, president; Amy Smith, vice president; Pauline Holorak, recording secretary; Joanne Sullivan, corresponding secretary; Sue Cox, treasurer; and Missy Steadman, immediate past president.
Steadman also was named Angel of Year at the May 6 event, which enjoyed about 75 members and guests.
Linda Carbone, of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross, conducted the installation ceremony and praised Steadman as a “caring, loving and involved president. She gave the Angels amazing representation on the Red Cross Board of Directors.”
Vaughn said the officers and others will meet during the summer to outline plans for next year’s activities, starting in the fall.
“Our programs will educate, enlighten and entertain,” she said.
The luncheon also featured a fashion show with members of the Angels showing clothes and accessories from Deborah Kent’s. The outfits focused on essential pieces that could be transitioned from casual to elegant.
“Black and white is a fashion trend that is here to stay,” said the show’s moderator, Dara Hall. “It is a timeless trend.”
