Jeff Shaw believes there are two main ingredients to being successful in today's real estate market: selling in the international market and contracting with relocation companies.
The president of Century 21 Shaw Realty says his company is in a position to capitalize on both.

WorldProperties.com, the official Web site of ICREA, helps members market their services and facilitate business in the global marketplace.
The site helps consumers locate properties outside their country and find a qualified real estate professional, Shaw says.
"To successfully do this, it automatically translates our listing information into the [consumers] language," Shaw says. "To successfully work in the international market, you have to be able to understand the different cultures and customs around the globe as well as the differences in real estate from one country to another.
"We are one of the few companies in our market to spend the thousands of dollars it takes to have their listings internationally featured on this Web site. Globalization has a powerful impact on our market."
Shaw says his company is constantly working to connect with international buyers.
"Not only do you have to be able to reach the customer, you have to have the ability to communicate with them so that they feel comfortable," Shaw says. "We are truly a multilingual office. We have associates who speak Arabic, Burmese, Cambodian, Cantonese, Croatian, Finnish, French, German, Gujarati, Hungarian, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese and others. The fastest growth in Internet usage has been in Asia, Latin America and parts of Europe and we want our company to be able to take advantage of that."
Shaw also touts his company's contracts with some of the largest corporate relocation companies in the U.S. Those contracts have proven to be invaluable in the Tampa Bay market, he says.
"While many market segments struggle, our corporate and military relocation business is up approximately 168 percent over last year, with almost 50 percent of that amount being military," Shaw says.
"My son Steven, who I am very proud of, is an Army Scout and just moved his family to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas."
