Lennar's Super Saturday A Hit With Buyers

Lennar's national "Let's Get America Moving" campaign, with its special pricing and low-interest mortgage option, was initiated as a way to provide home buyers with the opportunity to own a new home with low payments. On May 3, the company took that concept a step further with its Super Saturday Sale, says Jassy Friddle, marketing manager with Lennar Tampa.

Building on a special plan from Universal American Mortgage Co. featuring a 2.88 percent interest rate the first year, a 3.88 percent rate the second year and a 4.88 percent fixed rate for the remainder of the mortgage (annual percentage rate is 5.4 percent over life of loan), Lennar added an incentive for the sale.

"On Super Saturday, home buyers had the option of no mortgage interest payments for six months on conventional loans as well as FHA loans," Friddle says.

The Super Saturday event was a success nationally and locally, Friddle says.

"Our Midnight Madness Event last month gave us a good indication of what to expect from the Super Saturday Sales Event," Friddle says.

Super Saturday was not all business. Lennar made the event fun, too, providing visitors with a certificate for a $10 Starbucks gift card, the opportunity to win a $1,000 gift certificate to Rooms To Go every hour and the chance to win a $50,000 home- furnishing package.

Trish and Bob Jomisko not only purchased a new home during the sales event, they also received a Rooms To Go gift certificate. The couple bought a three-bedroom, 2½-bathroom St. Regis model at South Fork in Riverview.

"It's a gorgeous home - just beautiful," Trish Jomisko says. "It came fully-equipped with everything. We saved more than $10,000 and the people at Lennar were very easy to work with and very accommodating. They took the time to explain everything in detail. It was a very good experience."

Terry and Debbie Potchick were equally impressed with their home-buying experience during the event. The Potchicks bought a four-bedroom, three-bathroom Windsor model at Lake Talia in Land O' Lakes.

"We really liked working with Lennar, especially our new home consultant Emily Lloyd," Terry Potchick says. "She did an excellent job, and we would certainly recommend Lennar to friends and family."

The couple moved from Ohio to the Tampa Bay area three years ago and had been looking for a home off and on for the past year.

"We liked the fact that Lennar includes so much in the price of the home," he says. "You don't have extra charges for upgrades because everything is included in the purchase price. It makes it so much simpler when you are purchasing a home.

"This will be our fourth new home, so we have had some experience with different builders," he adds.

Terry Potchick says he and his wife feel the Lake Talia community is where they want to be. "I just think you get a lot for your money when you compare Lennar with other builders because of the built-in upgrades they offer."
