M/I Homes just finished its newest model at Easton Park in New Tampa, the Riviera III, and it promises to meet the needs of the entire family, says Theresa Lynn Collins, president of the Tampa division.

"The model has extraordinary features," she says. "In addition to providing ample space for the diverse living needs of today's families, this model home also includes upgrades to both the exterior and interior that enhance the home design even more."

A grand opening celebration is from noon to 3 p.m. today at the model, where there will be a catered picnic lunch, a balloon artist and a radio remote with Smooth Jazz, WSJT 94.1.

The 3,492-square-foot Riviera III has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a three-car garage and upgrades galore. Use the fifth bedroom as a bonus area, turning it into a sitting room, study or game room.

The model also offers an Energy Star package to help reduce energy costs, a pool and spa package with a waterfall, expanded pool decking, a gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel GE appliances, a 46-inch LCD flat panel HDTV with a Sony home theater system and upgraded tile, carpet, cabinets and counter tops.

"This home is one of our Hallmark designs and it truly exemplifies how our quality construction blends so well with a beautiful home," Collins says.

The Riviera III is one of 23 floor plans available in Easton Park, a community that Collins describes as "tucked into one of the newest areas of New Tampa, set away from the hustle yet close to shopping, restaurants and the interstate."

Homes at Easton Park provide 1,313 to more than 3,400 square feet of living space and are priced from the 170,000s to $600,000s, including lot.

Many of the lots front conservation areas and customers can choose from 50-, 65- or 75-foot-wide ones.

In addition to a lush landscape that greets residents, Collins says Easton Park takes on the feel of a state park with features such as a wildlife corridor, walking paths, a swimming pool, a playground, two parks and a covered pavilion with picnic tables.

The community is near two Hillsborough County parks - Flatwoods Park and Wilderness Park - that offer canoeing and baseball and soccer fields. A Hillsborough County library also is nearby.

In addition, M/I customers enjoy many other benefits.

Professional design consultants at M/I Homes' 5,000-square-foot design center help buyers choose from thousands of décor options and materials to find those that complement their lifestyles and personal tastes, Collins says.

In addition to providing buyers with decorating expertise, M/I offers the Confidence Builder Program, which takes buyers through the construction process.

The program includes a preconstruction conference with a construction supervisor to review the schedule and house plans and answer questions from the buyer. Each new home buyer receives a hard hat to encourage them to visit the construction site, Collins adds.

M/I also includes a 30-year transferable structural warranty, a quality control card and energy-efficient systems.

To reach Easton Park, take Interstate 75 to the Bruce B. Downs Boulevard exit. Travel east and make a right onto Cross Creek Boulevard. Go to Morris Bridge Road and make a left. The community is less than a mile down on the left.

Models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
