Ryland opens new model in Connerton

The most talked about community in the Pasco county area is Connerton, a Ryland Homes’ community in Land O’ Lakes, says Tony Crimi, Ryland Homes’ vice president of sales and marketing. Ryland Homes is the eighth-largest home builder in the country, with homes in the Tampa Bay area and Sarasota.

The development process at Connerton began in 2004 with Village One. As the housing market continues to improve, Crimi says Ryland and other homebuilders plan to build several thousand homes at Connerton.

“It’s getting a facelift, so to speak. With all the builders coming in, it’s going to be thriving again,” says Crimi. “It’s got a lot of great residents, who love living and owning homes there. We’re happy to be a part of their neighborhood.”

The Ryland plans in Connerton features three- and four-bedroom homes, ranging from 1,481 square feet to 2,273 square feet of living space with the choice of seven floor plans. The newest model, named Frost II, is the largest model with four bedrooms with the master downstairs. It opened March 1. Crimi says it has great street appeal with a front porch and what he calls bungalow columns.

“It’s a gorgeous community,” says Crimi. “The street lights permeate when you walk down the corner. All the landscaping is getting refurbished.”

Prices start from $185,990 and go up to $233,990.

All of the Ryland homes are Energy Star certified. Some of the green features included in the purchase of the home are low “e” windows, known as energy-efficient panes, and LP TechShield, a radiant barrier roofing that blocks 97 percent of radiant heat from entering the attic.

“We give buyers one of the best energy-rated homes so they can save money in the long run,” Crimi says.

At the 4,000-square-foot My Style Design Center, future owners can spend half a day with a personal decorator to customize their new home. When they choose their cabinets, countertops or floors, it reflects the personality of the future owner.

Crimi says, “They can start to picture and imagine their home and what the colors will look like.”

The amenities are designed to protect the area’s natural resources while providing outdoor recreational opportunities for residents. The community’s extensive trail systems contain boardwalks through nature preserves. Club Connerton features an aquatic playground, a fitness and activity center, meeting rooms, a playground, tennis courts, open spaces and an outdoor amphitheater.

“It has an intense number of amenities,” says Crimi. “The clubhouse is second to none.”

Ryland will be among the 33 builders for the Parade of Homes this March.

What distinguished Ryland from other home builders, says Crimi, are the people who work at Ryland. Sales people and construction staff have vast experience in the industry. Most of their sales people have been with the company seven to 15 years.

“When you deal with Ryland,” says Crimi. “You deal with true, professional people. Ryland is known for building a quality home and giving you the best value that we can. In all of our surveys, our customers have rated us very highly.”

Connerton has won the prestigious honors of Best Community, Best Master Plan, Best Environmental Sensitivity Program, Best Community Streetscape and Best Neighborhood Entrance awarded by the Pasco Builder's Association and Tampa Bay Builder's Association.
