Longoria to DH tonight for Rays; Rodriguez at 3B

ST. PETERSBURG – Evan Longoria will serve as the DH tonight for the Tampa Bay Rays for only the second time this season.

Sean Rodriguez will replace Longoria at third base as the Rays try to extend their winning streak to three games when they play the Baltimore Orioles in the middle game of a three-game series.

Logan Forsythe played third base the last time Longoria was the designated hitter, so this is Rodriguez’s first start this year at third and first start there since 2012.

Rays starter Erik Bedard (3-4, 3.83) faces his old team tonight. The lefty, who began his career with the Orioles, is 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA against them.

The Orioles will start righty Miguel Gonzalez (3-4, 4.17), who returns to the active roster after spending time on the disabled list with a right oblique strain.
