Trio of singers to help raise money for local arts council

PLANT CITY – Pop music, wine and hors d’ oeuvres will be part of a Sunday fundraiser to benefit the Arts Council of Plant City.

Klassika will perform “Popera,” at 2 p.m. at the Plant City Entertainment Theatre, 101 N. Thomas St. Klassika is part of MDHF Productions.

“They were here about a year and a half ago and we’ve been trying to get them back ever since,” said Dodie White, who is organizing the performance. “They are very entertaining.”

There are three singers and they perform songs as a trio, duo and solo, White said.

White, who is a member of Plant City Entertainment, said the community theater received a grant from the Hillsborough County Arts Council to bring in music programs such as “Popera.”

Tickets are $30 general admission or $25 for senior citizens and students. Groups of 10 or more pay $20 per ticket if bought in advance.

Tickets will be sold at the door starting at 1 p.m. the day of the show.

Tickets include the show, wine and hors d’ oeuvres.
