PLANT CITY - Three national retailers are opening in Lake Walden Square shopping center.

Michaels and Ross Dress for Less will occupy space vacant since Kmart closed about 10 years ago. PetSmart is opening in nearby space formerly occupied by a restaurant and other tenants in the shopping center at Alexander Street and James L. Redman Parkway.

Michaels has scheduled a grand opening on July 21, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m.

The store will give away gift cards and prizes hourly during the day.

Michaels is North America's largest arts and crafts specialty retailer.

PetSmart is scheduled to open July 27, according to the company's website. A PetSmart spokeswoman couldn't be reached for comment.

A representative from Ross couldn't be reached for comment.
