Overboard with fun

There will be fun for kids of all ages at Grace United Methodist Church, 1801 E. Cherry St., Plant City with Operation Overboard. The free event goes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday . Meals are included both days, as well as fun, music snacks and activities. Concert for charity

Enjoy Motown, hip hop, rock and dance music performed by Magic Fencewalk at the free summer Concerts for a Cause series at 7 p.m. at Park Square at FishHawk Ranch, 16144 Churchview Drive, Lithia. There is no admission, but concert-goers are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to benefit Feeding America Tampa Bay. The Friday evening concerts will continue through Aug. 17. Dance, dance, dance

Ron Bennett will take charge of the music for the Strawberry Singles Club dance at the Stardust Dance Center, 1405 S. Collins St., Plant City. School bash for kids

The 17th-annual Back to School Bash is set for this weekend in the Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. The event will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be interactive exhibits, family entertainment, door prizes and samples of lunch box treats. Admission is $9, children younger than 12 are free. Parking is $6 cash. Attendees are asked to use the U.S. 301 entrance. For more information, go to www.backtoschoolbash.com.

For teens only

It will be Teen Night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Dallas Bull, 3322 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. Teens between 13 and 17 will be able to enjoy and dance to Top 40, hip hop and country hits. There is a $10 cover charge. For more information, call (813) 987-2855.

Mraz at the Amphitheatre

Singer songwriter Jason Mraz, best known for his hit, "I'm Yours," will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday as he brings his "Tour is a Four Letter Word" worldwide tour to the Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N. Christina Perri will be a special guest on the card.

Tickets are $59.50 and $73.50 plus service charges for pit area and reserved seats, $23 for lawn seating, and are available through Ticketmaster.

The Strawberry Classic Car Show rolls back into the historic downtown district Aug. 18. The fun starts about 4 p.m.

Coin show coming soon

The Brandon Coin Club will have a coin and currency show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Brandon Elks Lodge #2383, 800 Centennial Lodge Drive, Brandon. There will be more than 30 dealers and 45 tables involved in the show. Admission is free and children younger than 12 receive coin grab bags. ICG grading service will be present offering free opinions and $9 slabbing. There will be door prizes given and food available on site for purchase.
