Tee up for charity Nov. 3

Sign up now for a Nov. 3 golf tournament that supports local youth programs.

The 18th annual Plant City Optimist Club and Plant City Recreation and Parks Department Classic will be at the Walden Lake Golf and Country Club, 2001 Clubhouse Drive.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost starts at $60 per player; sponsorships are available.

The cost includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, two beverage tickets and meal. Awards will be presented for first, second and third place, and contests include a putting contest from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., closest to the pin and more.

There also will be door prizes.

Activities sponsored by the Optimist Club range from youth flag football to a Little League baseball team to the city's Easter egg hunt.
