PLANT CITY If you have long hair, Plant City High School cosmetology students will give you a free haircut and style on Oct. 16.

The students will cut hair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to benefit Locks of Love. The customer has to sacrifice at least 10 inches of hair to qualify.

“We already have one long pony tail that a woman donated,” cosmetology teacher Laurel Ritenbaugh said.

Locks of Love is a nonprofit that makes hairpieces for needy children who are suffering from long-term medical hair loss for any diagnosis.

This is the first time Ritenbaugh’s students have offered free cuts and styles for hair donations to the charity.

MariLikes beauty products is a sponsor of the event at the school, One Raider Place off Alexander Street.

Participants will receive a certificate from Locks of Love and a free makeover from Mary Kay consultants.
