Plant City choir’s Christmas concert is Dec. 7

PLANT CITY The Plant City Community Choir will present its annual holiday concert, “Lights and Sound of Christmas,” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7.

The concert will be at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1104 N. Alexander St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The Christmas concert will feature piano accompaniment by Lenn Stone and a guitar solo by Miguel Pinedo. The choir will sing a number of Christmas standards, along with “Noel: A Night of Everlasting Love,” a collection of traditional carols from around the world.

The Christmas show will be the choir’s first performance under the baton of its new artistic director, Kenneth R. Watts.

Watts, who has been conducting and performing for more than 40 years, also conducts the Eastern Hillsborough Community Band and serves as associate music director for St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tampa.

Following the concert, there will be a reception to meet the choir and Watts. The reception will offer refreshments of punch and Christmas cookies.

Advanced tickets for the performance are $10 for adults and $8 for children and senior citizens. They are available from choir members or at www.pccommunitychoir.com.

Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors.
