Pioneer resident Cassie Brock Hart turns 95

PLANT CITY Longtime resident Cassie Brock Hart recently celebrated her 95th birthday.

She was born March 6, 1919 to Eulee and Zilla Brock and moved to Plant City in 1926 from Bainbridge, Ga.

She was the third of seven children and her brother Donald Brock and sister Onez Brock Weldon still reside in the area.

She attended elementary school in Cork and high school in Hopewell. She married the late Dick Hart Nov. 12, 1938.

The couple have two children, Richard W. Hart and Barbara A. Hart Smith, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She drove a school bus for Hillsborough County Schools for 25 years and has been an active member of Berea Baptist Church in Plant City for more than 70 years.

“Her faith in God, love for family and sense of humor have sustained her for these 95 wonderful years,” her granddaughter Tammy Henderson said.
