PLANT CITY Florida folk music and storytelling will be part of a presentation, A Cracker Saturday Night, at the 1914 Plant City High School Community Center.

The production, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, is sponsored by the East Hillsborough Historical Society.

The evening will include a presentation from Florida history expert and folk storyteller Senior Judge Nelson Bailey and musical performances from Frank Thomas, the Bullard Brothers and Friends, and J.D. and Zetha Lewis.

“Most of it will center around Florida folk music and Florida history,” historical society President Shelby Bender said.

The historical society also hosts the Florida Opry variety show at the community center.

Tickets are $12 per adult and $5 per child. In honor of Mother’s Day weekend, moms accompanied by their children will be offered free admission.

For additional information on the show or tickets, contact the historical society at (813) 757-9226 or qcenter@tampabay.rr.com.
