PLANT CITY – Reality show star Bobby Brantley has been named grand marshal of the March 3 Strawberry Grand Parade.

Brantley, from TruTV’s “Lizard Lick Towing,” will be in town to appear at the Florida Strawberry Festival. The parade is one of the highlights during the festival.

“We feel very lucky to have him as our grand marshal,” said Gail Lyons, president of Berry Fine Productions.

The nonprofit company took over operation of the parade from the festival a few years ago. The parade starts in downtown Plant City and ends at the festival grounds.

Brantley is the right hand man to Ronnie and Amy Shirley, who founded Lizard Lick Towing and are also stars on the show. The Shirleys and Brantley appeared at the 2012 and 2013 festival.

The Shirleys aren’t confirmed for 2014, but Brantley will be there for three days to meet fans. Brantley has been a popular draw at the festival, General Manager Paul Davis said.

“He’s a fun guy to be around. He loves the festival, and he loves to meet with the crowds,” Davis said.

Lyons said Brantley will “add some excitement” to the parade. He’s the parade’s first celebrity grand marshal in several years, she added.
