Lions Club to accept applications for festival queen pageant

PLANT CITY A mandatory orientation for candidates for Florida Strawberry Festival queen will be at 4 p.m. Nov. 3 in the expo hall on the festival grounds.

The pageant, sponsored by the Plant City Lions Club, is open to unmarried women between 16-20 years of age who live in the Plant City area. The queen and her court appear at many Strawberry Festival events and represent the strawberry industry during the year.

The orientation is the only opportunity for potential candidates to receive an application. Each contestant must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

The pageant itself will be 6 p.m. Jan. 25, also at the festival grounds.
