Bruton Memorial Library will give away 20 copies of the best-seller, “The Lightning Thief,” at a 6 p.m. Tuesday event designed to cultivate the love of reading.

Copies of the Rick Riordan book will be given away as part of the library's participation in World Book Night, a global effort to encourage reading among those who aren't regular readers, Adult Services Librarian Lisa Kreutter said.

The book is written for middle and high school students and Kreutter is spreading the word among local schools about the event at the library, 302 W. McLendon St.

Entry slips to win a copy of the book are available at the library's information desk, through Tuesday. Winners must be present to win.

This is the first time the Plant City library has participated in World Book Night, Kreutter said.

For information, call Kreutter (813) 757-9215.
