Learn the art of self defense at Plant City’s library

PLANT CITY A University of South Florida student who holds a black belt in karate will teach a basic self-defense class from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bruton Memorial Library.

Ryan Garner’s presentation will include an introduction to self-defense, demonstrations and time for questions and answers.

Adult Services Librarian Lisa Kreutter said Garner has been teaching classes in self-defense in area libraries for about a year and a half.

There is no charge for the class at the library, 302 W. McLendon St.

Participants can pre-register by stopping by the library Information Desk or by calling (813) 757-9215.
