PLANT CITY Shoppers can get an early jump on their Christmas gift list at an expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds.
The second annual Holiday Gift Expo will include unique gifts, food and visits with Santa. About 70 vendors from all around the region are expected at the event at the festival’s Arthur Boring Civic Center, 2406 W. Reynolds St.
“It will be a collection of a lot of different things,” said Sonya Bradley, event coordinator and marketing director for Simply Events, which is staging the expo.
The merchants will include those not typically found in shopping malls, such as crafters and artists, along with commercial businesses selling unique gifts, she said.
The selection will include clothing, sporting and fishing gear, organic coffees, pet treats, jewelry, children’s items and more. Some of the merchandise will be handmade, she said.
There is no charge for admission or parking, Bradley said.
There will also be Christmas music, strolling holiday characters and a chance for photos with Santa Claus, she said.
Plant City High School booster members will offer gift wrapping as a fundraiser for the club, Bradley said.
Food vendors will be staged inside and outside the venue all day.

The expo sponsors include The Tampa Tribune, which is owned by the same company that owns the Plant City Courier.
