PLANT CITY – Want to create your own table arrangement for the holidays?

If so, a Plant City Garden Club workshop is the place to be on Dec. 7.

The club is holding a Fun With Flowers workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 303 N. Evers St.

No experience is necessary, as the instructor will lead the class step by step, Garden Club member Cassandra Banning said.

“They don’t have to know anything about floral design,” Banning said. “All they need is to bring a pair of scissors.”

The club will furnish all the rest of the supplies needed for the holiday arrangement, including the flowers and container. The fee is $20 and includes a light lunch.

The Garden Club has been offering Fun With Flowers workshops for a number of years, and always brings in a different instructor, so students get a varied perspective on floral design, Banning said. This time, the teacher will be Parke Finold of Bradenton, who is a certified National Garden Club show judge and a Florida Federation of Garden Clubs instructor.

Participants do not have to belong to the Garden Club.

Reservations are due by Dec. 2.

To register, mail a check to Plant City Garden Club, P.O. Box 3471, Plant City Fla. 33566.
