Commissioner Rick Lott to serve fourth term as Plant City’s mayor

PLANT CITY Veteran Commissioner Rick Lott was selected Monday as the city’s new mayor.

Lott’s fellow commissioners voted unanimously to appoint him for a one-year term. The five city commissioners select a mayor each June from their own ranks.

Lott, 53, served as mayor three terms, 2007-2009. He said he was looking forward to another opportunity to serve in the role for a fourth term.

“I promise to do my best and work my hardest,” he said.

Lott owns a number of businesses, including Zymphony Office Solutions, Oracle Home Health and BRG Insurance. He and his wife Di have four childnen, Trent, 20, Ericka, 18, Chase, 16 and Rex, 13.
