PLANT CITY -

Bruton Memorial Library recently had a minor facelift.

City crews renovated the restrooms, office area, study rooms and entry way at the library at 302 W. McLendon St. The city saved about $9,000 by using its own crews to perform the work, City Manager Greg Horwedel said.

The project included:

Replacing sinks and plumbing, installing baby changing tables, re-laminating countertops with new Formica and more in the restrooms

Deep cleaning tile floors and dyeing grout

Cleaning the building’s exterior.

The total renovation cost was about $7,427.

Additional work is under way or will be soon, including patching and painting study room walls and deep cleaning the air conditioning vents.
