PLANT CITY -

The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce is appealing for help for its annual welcome to new teachers.

The chamber has sponsored by New Teacher Coffee for more than 15 years to make sure teachers and administrators new to Plant City area schools know they have the community's support.

Chamber Administrative Coordinator Amy Nizamoff expects to host about 150 educators at the Aug. 16 event at the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds.

She needs cash donations to help pay for door prizes and breakfast, along with small gifts and school supplies such as pencils and paper for goodie bags for each teacher.

The New Teacher Coffee always includes welcoming remarks by chamber officials and others and a competition among each school for the best cheer.

If you would like to help, call Nizamoff at (813) 754-3707.
