ST. PETERSBURG — A man was arrested today on charges he raped a woman who had passed out after taking her prescription medications, and videotaped the attack, according to St. Petersburg police.

Christopher James Baldwin, 23, of St. Petersburg, was charged with sexual battery of a physically helpless person, according to jail records. He was being held at the Pinellas County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Baldwin was acquainted with the woman, 35, and her husband, and sometimes hung out at their St. Petersburg home, police spokesman Mike Puetz said. On the night of Jan. 12, the husband left the house for a couple of hours, and the woman then was assaulted after she passed out, Puetz said.

When the husband returned, he went to the bedroom and found his wife sleeping and a video camera set up, Puetz said. When he and his wife looked at the video, they saw the rape, Puetz said.
