The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who attacked a 49-year-old woman after she had been running in Palm Harbor.
The suspect is described as white, 22 years old, and was wearing long cargo shorts, black sneakers but no shirt or socks, according to the sheriff's office.
The woman had finished jogging about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at 3400 block of Brian Road South in Palm Harbor, and as she was walking in the road the suspect grabbed her from behind, deputies said. He put her in a chokehold with his left arm and took her to the ground, deputies said. He then touched her inappropriately.
She screamed and the suspect ran away, deputies said. She flagged down a passing neighbor who drove her home and he then drove around the area looking for the man. The neighbor told deputies he saw the suspect running and got a look at his face.
The sheriff's office K-9 unit tried to find the suspect with no results.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jeff Capra of the sheriff's office's robbery/homicide unit at (727) 582-6200.
