A suspect was named Wednesday in the June 16 shooting of a Pinellas Park man.

Kali Lemar Smith, 36, was identified by police as the man responsible for shooting Jerry Wayne Wright in the home at 5815 89th Ave. N.

Smith was considered armed and dangerous, Pinellas Park police said.

A warrant for his arrest had been issued on an unrelated charge.

Officers were called to the home at 11:28 a.m. June 16 and found Wright, 35, with a gunshot wound. He was hospitalized with serious injuries. Police said the shooting occurred during an argument.

At the time, police released surveillance video from the scene.

Anyone with information on Smith was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), go online to crimestoppersofpinellas.org or text “TIP144” plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES). A person who supplies an anonymous tip leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
