St. Petersburg man sent to prison on child porn charges

A 30-year-old St. Petersburg man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III

Barry Anthony McGill was also ordered to surrender two computers. McGill pleaded guilty on Nov. 26.

According to court documents, an undercover agent downloaded multiple files of child pornography from McGill in August. On Oct. 1, federal agents executed a search warrant at McGill’s home, where they seized computers that contained images of child pornography, the documents state.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the St. Petersburg Police Department, the Largo Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
