ST. PETERSBURG Downtown life is returning to normal in the wake of the Honda Grand Prix, as crews continue dismantling the race track and taking away the concrete barriers and fencing that has dotted the waterfront for weeks.
The work, which began after the race wrapped up on Sunday, has been progressing ahead of schedule, according to Tim Ramsberger, the race’s general manager.
Saturday marks a key day in that process, as the Saturday Morning Market returns to the Al Lang Stadium parking lot. The market shut down last week and moved to another location the weekend before to make room for the race.
Crews should be completely done by Friday, Ramsberger said.
