A man was shot and a woman was held at gunpoint during a home invasion early Thursday in a St. Petersburg apartment that contained “a variety of narcotics,” police said.

Police responded at 12:32 a.m. to a call of four or five shots fired at Camden Lakes Apartments, 11401 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N.

Investigators said the incident was not random and likely drug-related. Witnesses on the scene have not been cooperative with officers, police said.

Garrett Dennis, 23, was shot in the back and transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical but stable condition.

No suspected have been identified.

No more information was available.
