Pinellas deputy faces disorderly intoxication charge

A Pinellas County sheriff’s deputy was arrested late Saturday after police said he was drunk and disorderly near the Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Petersburg.

Deputy Jeffrey De Cresie, 48, was taken into custody at Fifth Avenue and First Street South,

St. Petersburg police said. He faces a charge of disorderly intoxication in a public place.

Police said De Cresie was arguing with a woman and acting belligerent about 10 p.m. Police said officers asked him to leave and he refused.

De Cresie is assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Operations Bureau-Central District, police said. He has worked for the sheriff’s office since June 2000.
