Outdoor market set for St. Pete’s Midtown neighborhood

Published:

Two months after the long-awaited opening of a Walmart in the Midtown section of St. Petersburg, neighborhood residents will have a weekly outdoor market to call their own.

Mayor Rick Kriseman today announced that the “Deuces Live” weekly market will open on April 6.

The market, which will feature live entertainment and vendors offering fresh produce, home-baked goods and arts and crafts, will be open each Sunday from 1-6 p.m. on 22nd Street South and Ninth Avenue.

“We welcome the new Deuces Live Sunday Market, and look forward it to becoming a new weekly tradition in Midtown,” Kriseman said. “Please come support us in April, and throughout the entire year.”

The announcement comes nearly two months after the grand opening of a Walmart on 22nd Street South in a space vacated by Sweetbay, giving residents with no transportation access to fresh, affordable food.

Vendor booths for the outdoor market are available for $60 for four weeks. Vendors are required to register and provide their own tent.
