Detectives are investigating a fire at a Palm Harbor park.

Detectives are investigating a fire they have called suspicious that destroyed an observation tower at a Palm Harbor park this morning.

Palm Harbor firefighters, responding to a reported brush fire around 7:30 a.m., found the observation tower at Wall Springs Park fully engulfed.

The fire destroyed the 3,000-square-foot, four-story tower, located at 3725 Desoto Blvd., officials say.

The park will remain closed during the investigation, officials say.

Investigators ask that anyone with information in the case call Detective Larry McLean of the Arson and Auto Theft Unit at (727) 582-6200.
