ST. PETERSBURG — The pumpkins here come in an array of shades and hues — orange, green, purple or maybe brown — with the color of the hot glass changing as it cools.
These aren’t the typical gourds you’ll find announcing the arrival of fall on porches throughout the Tampa Bay area. These are customized glass pumpkins, made with the help of the resident glassblowers at the Morean Arts Center’s Hot Shop.
During one-on-one sessions, people learn how to work with hot glass to mold their pumpkins, give them just the right color and add distinctive touches.
The pumpkin-making classes run through Nov. 8.
