ST. PETERSBURG — Mayor Rick Kriseman announced Tuesday that Dave Metz will serve as St. Petersburg’s interim development administrator following the retirement of Rick Mussett.

As director of downtown enterprise facilities, Metz has served the city managing facilities including the port. He also has served as director of the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and was senior manager for business development with the Pinellas County Economic Development Department.

“Dave Metz has been a big part of this city and this region for more than 30 years, and I trust he will serve as a strong, stable leader in a critically important department,” Kriseman said in a statement. “I have full confidence in Dave and know he and his team will make our city proud.”

Joe Zeoli, director of city development administration, will serve as the interim director of the downtown enterprise facilities on top of his current duties.
