Holiday decorating gets technical at PTEC

Published:

The Pinellas Technical Education Centers’ Clearwater campus will be transformed into an old Florida winter wonderland this week, allowing visitors to walk through the state’s historical role in developing and launching the United States into the Space Age.

The exhibit opens to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19 and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20 in Building 11 of the PTEC Clearwater campus, 6100 154th Ave. North.

Students in the Pinellas Technical Education Centers’ interior decorating services program are using their skills in interior decoration, window dressing, set design and event planning to transform their 5,000-plus-square-foot facility into the holiday wonderland.

The annual event will feature 10 rooms of holiday-themed vignettes designed by individual students enrolled in the program, and the public will judge the displays. The event is free, and visitors will be offered nonalcoholic everages and food samples.
