A woman has been hospitalized after nearly drowning at a St. Pete Beach hotel this evening, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Judy Pramtel, 65, 6735 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Deputies received the call about 7:33 p.m. Pramtel and her husband were swimming in the pool at the Post Card Inn Hotel, 6300 Gulf Blvd., when he noticed she was unresponsive. The victim’s husband pulled her from the water, began CPR and called 911.

The near drowning appears to be accidental and possibly health-related, deputies said.

The investigation is continuing.
