Pinellas County deputies have identified the body of a male found floating in a St. Petersburg canal on Monday night.

Deputies say Manuel Vivanco, 17, of Dunedin, was found in a canal on the south side of the Jacaranda Retirement Home, 4250 56th Street North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

An autopsy was performed and detectives are awaiting toxicology reports, but they say Vivanco’s death is not considered suspicious.

Detectives began an investigation after a passer-by saw Vivanco’s body in the canal on Monday night.

Detectives say his body may have been in the water for about two days.

An investigation is ongoing.
