Nicholas Lindsey Sr., the father of a teen with the same name who was convicted of killing a St. Petersburg police officer in March, was arrested Thursday and charged with dealing cocaine, police said.
Police received a tip in August that Lindsey, 44, was selling drugs from his home in the 2800 block of 25th Ave. N., said Mike Puetz, spokesman for the St. Petersburg Police Department.
An undercover detective went to Lindsey's home and bought cocaine from him once in September and once in October, Puetz said.
Lindsey was charged with two counts of selling cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine and one count of possession of marijuana.
He was released at 4:30 a.m. today on $24,150 bail.
Nicholas Lindsey Jr. was sentenced to life in prison for shooting to death Officer David Crawford on Feb. 21, 2011.
