ST. PETERSBURG -

Commuters can expect traffic delays Sunday as more than 1,000 motorcycles will roll through St. Petersburg as part of the Bubba's Bikes for Badges benefit.

The event benefits the memorial fund of fallen Lakeland police Officer Arnulfo Crispin.

The motorcyclists will depart Jim's Harley-Davidson, 2805 54th Ave. N., at 10 a.m.

The route will take them west along 54th Avenue North before turning south on Park Street. Riders will travel east on First Avenue South and north on 28th Avenue to 54th Avenue North before returning to Jim's Harley-Davidson.

Traffic will be controlled at major intersections, but motorists should expect delays in crossing the route during event hours.

The ride is expected to conclude about noon, followed by a silent auction, bike show and wash at the dealership.

Cost to participate is $20 in advance, or riders can sign up for $30 beginning at 8 a.m.
