Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies have identified the body of a woman found floating in a canal behind the Jacaranda Retirement Home in St. Petersburg.

The body of 56-year-old Susan Janet Hendricks, 4764 66th Lane N., Lot 13, in St. Petersburg, was discovered shortly before 12:30 p.m. today, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

A nurse at the retirement home, located at 4250 66th St. N., who was outside on a break saw Hendrick, pulled her out of the canal and called 911, the sheriff’s office reported.

The death does not appear to be suspicious, deputies said. The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine how she died.
